Alternative Group Photoshoot: Victoria

Alternative Group Photoshoot: Victoria, Miss Cobweb, and Bryony

This was a group photoshoot organised by the wonderful Victoria of Nocternal Artist Photography. She brought along models Bryony Clare and Miss Cobweb. Victoria alsohad the duel task of photographing and modelling. There was a mixture of themes with both Bryony and Miss Cobweb modelling latex outfits. Victoria wore a variety of dresses, and Miss Cobweb went more Goth. Finally we had Bryony being a chameleon with a black swan inspired outfit as well as going geeky at the end of the shoot.

Stylized Studio Portrait Photoshoot: Lauren

Stylized Barlow Studio’s Portrait Photoshoot Images

Lauren is a young model that I came across on the modelling website Purestorm when she answered my casting call for a fashion and beauty portrait photoshoot. The casting call itself was looking for someone to create some fun and unique images with the fabric tulle being a contributing element. This could be as a hair piece, tutu like skirt, etc.. I collated a few images for inspiration using Flickr that I passed on to Lauren to assemble a collection of outfits.

At the shoot itself at Barlow Studios, it was a collaboration between Lauren and myself throwing ideas between ourselves and utilising the gymnastic skill set that Lauren only revealed to me at the photoshoot. I think you can tell that in some of the images. To keep the photoshoot moving and lively, we incorporated a number of outfit changes to add to the variety of the final images. I think we ended up with 5 outfit changes in the 2 hour time slot we allocated.

My favourite images came towards the end of the shoot when we were using the black leotard and paired it with the tights, skirt and tulle.

Thank you to Lauren for working on this idea at such short notice. You were a delight to work with, and I hope to work with you again in the near future.

Casting Call for Fruity Jewellery

Casting Call for Fruity Jewellery

Casting for a proportionate model with a good complexion to shoot some fun and unique images of fruit created to imitate jewellery. I have gathered a small collection of images at Casting for a proportionate model with a good complexion to shoot some fun and unique images of fruit created to imitate jewellery. I have gathered a small collection of images at Flickr to highlight potential ideas.

The shoot will be TFCD. The model will be required to provide a strapless top as I envisage shooting bare shoulders upwards. The shoot can be shot either at my own home, or yours.

I envisage the shoot taking around 2 hours, the first hour for hair and make-up. I am flexible as to what day to shoot.

Please respond to this casting call only via private message and include your name, contact information, the best time to reach you. Responses without this information, public responses or responses of “Interested” will be ignored and deleted.

Elegant Chesterfield Boudoir Photoshoot: Angel

Angel's Boudoir by Jon Howson Photography

Elegant Chesterfield Boudoir Photoshoot by Jon Howson Photography

Elegant Chesterfield Boudoir Photoshoot Images

It was a pleasure to finally work again with Angel after so long. We have collaborated on a number of shoots since we first came across each other late in 2009, ranging from Gothic shoots in Sheffield General Cemetery through to fashion shoots on the moors. This time, it was for a boudoir photoshoot.

This shoot had partially been in the pipeline since the Summer, but was not finalised until after Angel’s wedding, when she was obviously less busy and stressed out about things. A small number of emails were exchanged between the two of us to clarify the theme of the shoot, and for potential outfits to be chosen. I created a pinterest board with ideas and inspiration specific to the boudoir photoshoot. This helped me gain an understanding of what sort of image that Angel was looking for.

It cropped up early in the emails that Angel had been discussing with her partner about arranging some lingerie type shots, and that I was lucky enough to come along at the right time. As Angel’s wedding had just passed, the opportunity to shoot some bridal lingerie was too good to be passed up. The combination of bodice, suspender belt, stockings, etc. can be seen in the above images, with the additional of Angel’s cathedral length veil added.

Towards the end of the session, we both relaxed a bit more, and shot some fun images, like the image below. Maybe there is an opening for pet boudoir photoshoots. Who knows?

I think some of my favourite images come from the time that we were shooting with the patterned fabric. Please let me know which image(s) were your favourite in the comment section below.

Thank you Angel for working with me again on yet another project. Each time is a fun and creative experience, and I’m beginning to realise that your wardrobe is indeed like the one featured in the Narnia tales.
